While many want us to believe that police brutality, and systematic racism isn't a major issue in the black and brown community, it is our job to educate members of our families and communities, about the dangers that can hide behind a badge. In our hearts we want to trust, and hope that our police have our best interest at heart, and while most do, there are always some bad actors, that instill fear in the community by using intimidation, over-policing,  and violations of civil rights. We want to feel safe in knowing that good police are taking bad people off of the streets, and that bad cops aren't harassing and murdering good citizens. Pick up a copy of the Police Encounter Bible, share it with your family, learn and understand your rights, and simple ways to stay calm and collected during an encounter with law enforcement. While hosting a Think Free Seminar in Cobb County, GA, I invited several local police officers to address many points, one thing that stood out to me was, when the police chief said, "we just want to make sure we make it home to our families." I too share those sentiments, for myself and all of you.
